Idea 2
My second idea features a group of teenagers who live around the same area and are close friends. This means my second idea is group driven as opposed to having one lead character. This makes Propp's hero harder to recognise, however it could be argued that the entire group fit the hero archetype. The group are all seen as rather weak within society and where they live, and constantly have to big themselves up to try and appear street-wise to one another even though no-one is fooled. The group are walking round one day, when Steven is dared to walk into the creepy abandoned house, the plot begins to play out like a typical teenage horror film, with voices being heard, messages that are written behind the wallpaper and blood up the walls, the group begin to see a psychopathic killer similar to films such as 'Halloween' until they realise that none of the threats of violence within the house are actually carried through and they are being scared by empty threats. Hearing the killer encourage the group to fight back and hurt him make them realise who is truly behind the events that have taken place. The group of four include:
Steven Dalle - sees himself as the leader of the group, even though Joanna is the one that guides them is the first one to try and be 'tough' in the disequilibrium
Lydia Cunningham - is the bonafide leader of the group, the one who leads the group through the supposedly 'haunted' house and is the one that realises what is really happening and why they have been targeted
Will Rhys - the scrawny member of the group who is constantly trying to impress Lydia and Steven, in his constant effort to prove his worth he always comes up short and disappoints and sometimes even amuses the rest of the group
Lance Ramsey - the 'backbone' of the group, very scientifically minded even with his aims to look intimidating and street, throughout the process of the 'horror house' he tries to find reasonable explanations for all the happenings in the house
Location:
House (interior) - extremely dark with multiple rooms
House (exterior) - there needs to be a few streets for the group to walk around
